Chenzhou receives over 39.6 mln tourists during National Day holiday

Chenzhou achieved fruitful results in culture and tourism during the National Day and Mid-autumn Festival holiday.

Chenzhou City implemented an online reservation and flow restriction mechanism in key scenic spots for the first time.

During the 8-day holiday, the city received a total of 3.961 million tourists. Among them, 1.066 million tourists stayed overnight, accounting for 26.9%. There were 1.755 million visitors from outside the province, accounting for 44.3%. The average length of stay for overnight tourists is 2.643 days.

According to a survey, the total tourist spending in the city was estimated to be 4.64 billion yuan.

During this year’s National Day holiday, five scenic areas--Dongjiang Lake, Mangshan Mountain, Gaoyi Ridge, Yangtian Lake and Feitian Mountain implemented online reservations and different travel times.

The intelligent platform precisely regulated passenger flow to alleviate the pressure on popular tourist attractions and promote the development of the all-for-one tourism industry.

Feitian Mountain-Cuijiang River Tourist Area has improved its services, transforming the performance center into a temporary tourist center and adding a call system.

If the popular scenic spots were fully booked, the staff would guide tourists to nearby attractions such as Suxian Ridge and 711 Time Town.

There were also great cultural tourism products that drew many visitors.

From October 3 to 4, the 2025 AYO Music Festival was held at Chenzhou, where 44 groups of rappers attracted nearly 60,000 visitors, 80% of whom were music fans from other places. This significantly drove comprehensive consumption in accommodation, catering, transportation, scenic spots, and other areas.

What’s more, various water selling points were set up, and staff members of the local cultural tourism department even introduced local cuisine, special attractions and shuttle buses.

On October 5, tickets of “Xiangchao” Chenzhou VS Zhuzhou were sold out in seconds as soon as they went on sale. The popularity of this game has unleashed the enormous potential of sports and tourism.

Traditional culture also attracted visitors. Chenzhou Changjuan launched Kunqu opera and Sichuan opera performances, as well as exhibitions of Dabujiang patchwork embroidery and dragon beard grass weaving.

Activities such as the Yao long-table banquet at Linwu Xiyao Cultural Park and the Hanfu night tour in Guiyang Ancient County also brought traditional culture into tourists' lives in a more accessible way.

During the National Day holiday, the city launched cultural and tourism consumption month activities, distributing 1 million yuan of consumption vouchers, which is applicable to scenic spot tickets, hotel accommodation, cultural and creative specialties, catering, etc.

For example, 711 Time Town launched a minimum discount of 32%. Hunan Baoshan National Mining Park offered free admission to museums, Copper Coin Square, and Zilong Taolue Camp for those who purchased underground tickets.

This effectively stimulated the consumption enthusiasm of citizens and tourists.

Chenxin services run through the whole travel journey from high-speed station to scenic spots. Beihu District provided transfer services in Chenzhouxi Station, becoming the first impression of tourists on Chenzhou.

Attentive and considerate services were offered for large events. As for the AYO! Music Festival, fan service stations were set up at the high-speed railway station and train station, providing fans with crispy sesame cakes, bottled water, blind boxes of mineral crystals.

The Municipal Public Transport Group specially opened free shuttle buses, with hundreds of vehicles shuttling back and forth between major transportation stations and music festival venues.

At the music festival, free breakfast was provided to night volleyball fans, and multiple free water replenishment points were set up. High pressure water mist trucks were also mobilized to help fans cool down in a timely manner, fully demonstrating the meticulous care of Chenzhou.

To alleviate the pressure on traffic, Beihu District opened 17 temporary parking lots with 4,200 free parking spaces, set up 4 transfer points, launched free shuttle buses directly connecting to scenic spots, and effectively diverted private vehicles.

With the smart transportation platform as the core, 4 smart screens on the Chenyang Road were used to show real-time traffic information in real time, combined with drone patrols and remote voice guidance.

The facilities and services of the scenic spots have been continuously improved. New facilities such as cooling mist systems, rest pavilions, rest chairs, air-conditioned rooms, electric fans, and intelligent check-in systems were added in such scenic spots as Gaoyi Ridge and Feitian Mountain.

The Yangtian Lake Grassland held a pumpkin festival and a bonfire party. The Mangshan Wuzhi Peak scenic area organized activities suitable for young tourists.

These improvements in the details enhanced the comfort and satisfaction of tourists.
