An activity was held to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year in Lanwangmiao Village of Xujiadong Town, Suxian District, Chenzhou City on February 10, featuring multiple experience areas centered around the century-old bridge and showcasing traditional customs, handicrafts and local cuisine.
In multiple experience areas along the ancient bridge and village roads, villagers made traditional festival food on the site. Handmade Taohua (a kind of food with the shape of flower), fried glutinous rice cakes, steamed rice dumplings and others have attracted a large number of tourists. Many tourists tried to make it under the guidance of villagers.
At around 9 o’clock, a cultural activity in Suxian District in 2026 was launched at the main venue in front of the Lanwangmiao Village Party and Mass Service Center. Both adults and children kept their eyes glued to the fantastic magic show, with consistent applause and exclamations. The song and dance performances written and performed by villagers celebrated the festival in a simple and direct way.
There were also many other folk cultural activities. On one side of the ancient bridge, volunteers from the district calligraphers’ association wrote couplets, and villagers and tourists chose their favorite ones. In the DIY area, Paper Cuttings, rubbings and others brought great fun to children.
