Chenzhou City launched 5 sojourn and wellness tourism routes at the launch ceremony of the Chenzhou Silver Economy held on June 20, which are designed to provide the elderly with a unique experience.

Tourism Route 1: Ecological Wellness Tour

This route connects Suxian Ridge, Dongjiang Lake and Mangshan Mountain. Tourists can hike at Suxian Ridge, listen to the legends of Su Dan and orange wells, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dongjiang Lake, watch the sea of clouds in Wuzhi Peak of Mangshan Mountain.

Tourism Route 2: Red and Wellness Tour

This route starts from the place where the story “Half A Quilt” took place in Shazhou Village, passes through the Former Site where “Three Main Rules of Discipline and Six Points For Attention” was promulgated, and go to Qingzhu Village on the border between Hunan and Jiangxi provinces to breathe fresh air.

Tourism Route 3: Urban Memory Tour

Along this route, the elderly can go to the ancient village of Wayaoping to taste kiln baked bread, explore the 711 Time Town to learn about the first meritorious uranium in China’s nuclear industry and the glorious stories of the people working there.

At night, they can stroll along Yuhou Street and feel the charm of the city.

Tourism Route 4: Hot Spring Wellness Tour

Tourists can hike along the ecological corridor to see Chinese yew trees in Deshou Mountain Scenic Area, boil eggs in the 98 degrees Celsius hot spring in Reshui Hot

Spring Cultural Park of Rucheng County, and relax themselves in Fuquan Hot Spring Resort with over 50 bathing pools containing lithium, fluoride, radon and other minerals.

Tourism Route 5: Picturesque Countryside Tour

This route starts from Wazao Village, the birthplace of Qifengdu fish rice noodles. In Xiaobu Village, one can see the blend of Ming and Qing architecture with modern industries. In Chaoyang Village, you can listen to the Red story of “staying overnight in Lishan” and enjoy the picturesque scenery along the Xihe River.

These five sojourn and wellness routes, which deeply integrate natural scenery, Red culture, hot springs and rural areas in Chenzhou, will bring immersive travel and living experiences for the elderly through the “culture and tourism plus health care” model, and promote the coordinated development of elderly consumption and the city's culture and tourism industry.
