Chenzhou city launched five recommended tourist routes for tourists to enjoy their May Day holiday.

Three-day tour of Yangtian Lake, Mangshan Mountain and Dongjiang Lake

On the first day, tourists can go to Yangtian Lake Grassland from urban areas of Chenzhou city, then visit Zhiqing Art Village, have a night tour in Beihu Cultural Tourism Block and Yuhou Street, and finally stay in Chenzhou.

On the second day, tourists can go to Mangshan Wuzhi Peak Scenic Area, Mangshan National Forest Park, and stay in Mangshan Forest Hot Spring Resort.

On the third day, tourists can go to Mangshan Forest Hot Spring, visit Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area (mist-enveloped Xiaodongjiang and Bailang Town), then return to Chenzhou city.

Dongjiang Lake

Dongjiang Lake is a national 5A level scenic spot, a national demonstration area for ecological tourism, a national wetland park, a national water conservancy scenic spot and a national forest park.

With multiple national honors, the lake looks like a huge mirror reflecting the surrounding mountains and clouds.

Mangshan Mountain

Mangshan National Forest Park is a national 4A level scenic spot, with a forest coverage rate of 92.8%. Mangshan Mountain was listed among the first batch of world’s famous tourism mountains. There are more than 150 peaks above sea level of 1,000 meters in the park. The highest peak, Mengkengshi, with an altitude of 1,902 meters, is known as the No.1 peak in South China.

Yangtian Lake

Yangtian Lake Grassland is located at an altitude of 1,314 meters. It’s the southernmost alpine grassland in China and a national 4A level scenic spot.

It boasts the rarest alpine grassland landscape in South China, with an area of over 60,000 mu (4,000 hectares). The green grass period lasts for nine months. It’s known as the most beautiful alpine grassland in South China.

The whole grassland makes people feel like they have entered the fairy tale world of Hayao Miyazaki.

Three-day tour in Feitian Mountain, Gaoyi Ridge, Dongjiang Lake, Huilong Mountain and Shimu Hot Spring

On the first day, tourists can appreciate the beautiful scenery of Feitian Mountain, Cuijiang River, Wayaoping, Gaoyi Ridge, have a night tour in Chenzhou, and then stay in Chenzhou.

On the second day, tourists can go to visit Dongjiang Lake, Bailang Town, Huilong Mountain, and stay in Zixing.

On the third day, tourists can visit Qingdao Beer (Chenzhou) Cultural Experience Center in Zixing City, 711 Time Town in Suxian District and relax themselves in Shimu Hot Spring.

Gaoyi Ridge

Gaoyi Ridge is a national 4A scenic spot with a forest coverage rate of 95%. It’s an undeveloped natural and original ecological tourist area. Here, you will see mountains, waters, springs, caves, cliffs and ravines. The natural ecology is well preserved.

Gaoyi Ridge is famous for its Danxia landform.

Feitian Mountain

Feitian Mountain is characterized by the Danxia Landform, which is carved into lifelike shapes resembling humans, animals, objects and birds by power of nature.

Whether the cultural attractions or natural scenery, all make people want to stay longer.

Three-day tour of Red culture

On the first day, tourists can visit Shazhou Red Scenic Area, Jiulong River National Forest, and stay in Fuquan Hot Spring Villa.

On the second day, tourists can go to Fuquan Hot Spring Villa in Rucheng County, visit the place where “Three Main Rules of Discipline and the Eight Points for Attention” was promulgated, Wanyang Mountain, and stay in Guidong county.

On the third day, tourists can leave from Guidong county and then go to 711 Time Town, Xiangnan Rebellion Memorial Hall and the Bamboo Scaffold Training Center for Chinese Women's Volleyball Team.

Shazhou Red Scenic Area

The Shazhou Red Scenic Area is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, where the story of “Half a Quilt” took place. It’s a national base for patriotic education, a base for women’s patriotic education, a base for educating the next generation on the history of the Communist Party of China and the country, and a base for youth education.

After successfully breaking through the second blockade line in Rucheng county, the Central Red Army stopped here for rest and combat, leaving the former sites of five departments and one bank.

There is a special exhibition hall on “The Warmth of Half a Quilt” and a branch of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee Party School in Shazhou.

It is a Red tourism scenic area that where Red education, Red study tours and rural tourism activities can be carried out.

711 Time Town

711 Time Town is built to inherit the spirit of “Two Bombs, One Satellite” (Two Bombs refers to the atomic bomb and the intercontinental ballistic missile, while One Satellite refers to the artificial satellite) and the spirit of China’s nuclear industry, and to protect, utilize and transform 711 Mine.

Here, there are a worker’s cultural palace, a barber shop, a photo studio, a post office and other places with a strong nostalgic atmosphere.

These places allow people to personally experience the lifestyle of the past era and the historical memory of the first meritorious uranium mine in China’s nuclear industry.

Two-day tour of Feitian Mountain, Dongjiang Lake, Huilong Mountain, Yangtian Lake Grassland

On the first day, tourists can visit Feitian Mountain, Dongjiang Lake, Bailang Town and stay in cliff homestay inns in Huilong Mountain Scenic Area.

On the second day, tourists can climb Huilong Mountain, visit Yangtian Lake Grassland, Zhiqing Art Village, and then return to Chenzhou.

Huilong Mountain

Huilong Mountain Scenic Area is located in the northeastern part of Zixing city, Chenzhou. It’s a branch of the Luoxiao Mountains, with an altitude of 1,413 meters and a total area of 20.2 square kilometers.

One can enjoy the sea of azaleas in spring, escape summer heat in summer, watch the sunrise and sea of clouds in autumn and see rime and snow scenery in winter. It has been a summer resort in Southern Hunan since ancient times with an annual average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and an average temperature of 23 degrees Celsius in summer.

It integrates over 2,000 years of religious history and culture as well as the ancient and simple Yao ethnic customs and culture. The Huilong Ancient Temple on the mountaintop, known as Ancient Nanyue, was once the birthplace of Nanyue religious culture.

The sunrise on Huilong Mountain is one of the ancient eight views in Zixing city.

Zhiqing Art Village

Strolling through Zhiqing Art Village, one can experience the perfect integration of art and nature, visit art studios, admire the creative process of artists, or participate in an art experience course, such as pottery or painting.

Two-day tour of outdoor experience

On the first day, one can go to Gaoyi Ridge (flying camp), Xiongying Outdoor Camp in Chenzhou city, and then live in Bailang town.

On the second day, one can ride a bike around the lake, then go to Wugaishan Fun Camp, and climb the Suxian Ridge.

Suxian Ridge

Suxian Ridge is known as the 18th blessed land in the world and a famous scenic spot in southern Hunan province. It’s renowned both at home and abroad for its beautiful legend of Su Xian. The natural sights in Suxian Ridge Scenic Area such as Bailu Cave, Shengxian Stone and Wangmu Pine are famous.

Wugaishan Fun Camp

Tourists can set up a tent and a canopy by the stream to breathe in the bamboo fragrance and fresh air.
