‘Half a Quilt’-themed exhibition hall

The ‘Half a Quilt’-themed exhibition hall is located in Shazhou Red Tourist Area of Rucheng County, Chenzhou City. It covers an area of 17,441 square meters, a construction area of 3,640 square meters and an exhibition area of 2,200 square meters. It’s a two-story residential building with Xiangnan characteristics.

The exhibition hall vividly reproduces the touching story ‘half a quilt’ that happened in 1934 when the red army passed through Rucheng county during their Long March, which shows a deep emotional bond between the Red army and the people through photos, cultural relics, sculptures and other forms.

The exhibition consists of four parts, with more than 1,600 photos on display and 43 cultural relics collected in the hall.  

It’s a national demonstration base for patriotic education, providing students with abundant study resources. Students can visit basic displays and learn about the background and significance of the story of “Half a Quilt”, participate in interactive experiential activities to feel the charm of Red culture, and listen to expert lectures to gain a deeper understanding of revolutionary history.

The exhibition hall attracts numerous scholars every year, who explore the historical connotation of the story of “Half a Quilt” through academic exchanges and lectures, providing solid academic support for inheriting the Red culture.

The exhibition hall is open from 9:00 to 17:00 on weekdays all year round, and closed on Wednesdays.

You can drive or take public transportation to Chenzhou City, and then transfer to the shuttle bus to Rucheng County.

The exhibition hall provides tour guide services, and visitors can choose tour guides or use audio guidance devices to learn about the story of “Half a Quilt”.
