The Hunan Lithium Resources Innovation and Application Conference is about to be held, and the construction of various element guarantee projects in Linwu County is in full swing.
The construction site of the 110 KV Linwu Industrial Park substation project of Chendian International Development Company Linwu Branch was a hive of activity. Currently, the project is 65% complete, and it is expected to be put into operation in August.
This substation, equipped with two 63 megavolt ampere main transformers, will provide continuous power support for enterprises in Linwu High-tech Zone. Fully taking into consideration of the suggestions of enterprises in Linwu High-tech Zone, it adopts 5-circuit 110kV outgoing lines and 24 circuit 10kV outgoing lines to accurately adapt to the power needs of enterprises.

Subsequently, according to the development plan and actual situation of Linwu High-tech Zone, the final phase of large-scale construction work will also be launched, expanding the main transformers from the original two 63MVA to three to meet the constantly developing electricity demand of the lithium battery industry.

“This is equivalent to building a substation in Linwu County that can meet all the current electricity needs of the county. At the same time, the substation has the ability for completely unmanned operation, which is more precise and efficient in telemetry, remote signaling, remote adjustment, remote control and other aspects compared to the traditional manual duty mode, ensuring the stable and reliable power supply of enterprises in Linwu High-tech Zone. In the future, the power grid structure of Linwu High-tech Zone will be significantly optimized,” said Li Hongyun, assistant manager of Linwu Branch of Chendian International.
The second water plant with a daily water supply of 50,000 tons is also scheduled for trial operation in August. At present, the project has officially entered the final stage, with the brand new water treatment equipment in place.
In the long term, water will also be diverted from Mangshan Reservoir to this area, and the daily water supply scale can be increased to 100,000 tons.

Adequate water resources supply will provide strong support for the production, research and development of the lithium battery industry.
Kuang Haijun, deputy general manager of Shunfa Urban and Rural Development Investment Co., Ltd. in Linwu County, introduced that the project will provide water supply for enterprises along the high-tech zone, Shunfeng South area in the county’s urban area, and some parts of Nanqiang Town.
The project will effectively alleviate the water supply pressure of the First Water Plant, while meeting the water needs of residents’ daily life and industrial production, further enhancing the overall water supply guarantee capacity of Linwu County.
With the continuous extension of the lithium battery industry chain, the construction project of a 1.5-million-cubic meter daily natural gas comprehensive station not only effectively meets the gas demand of the lithium battery new energy industry, but also promotes the transformation of natural gas utilization in the county.
In addition, industrial road projects such as the Shanmuxi-Huatangpu Highway, G647 Chujiang-Shunfeng Highway, and S568 Zimu-Majia Highway mining area have also been launched, laying a solid foundation for Linwu’s lithium industry.
Fu Hongliang, general manager of Linwu Jinhuang Natural Gas Co., Ltd., introduced that the natural gas prices supplied by the company to enterprises have reached the lowest level in Hunan Province.
Although the procurement cost is 0.2 yuan/cubic meter higher than that in Changsha, the company still supplies gas to enterprises at a price lower than that in Changsha, maximizing the benefits for enterprises and effectively reducing their gas consumption costs.
“The construction of industrial roads provides important transportation support for the development of the lithium battery industry. It not only creates convenient and efficient logistics channels for the transportation of raw materials and product sales of upstream and downstream enterprises in the lithium battery industry chain, but also further enhances regional linkage and promotes the integrated industry-city development in Linwu County,” said Li Xiangwen, director of the Linwu County Transportation Bureau.
The factor guarantee projects are helping Linwu County to pick up pace in the new energy industry. Next, the county government will continue to provide better services and more complete supporting facilities for the development of the lithium battery industry, enabling it to usher in a broader development space.
