Chenzhou is the hometown of nonferrous metals, with abundant nonferrous metal resources and solid foundation for deep processing industry.

In recent years, influenced by the international and domestic economic situation, the import demand for nonferrous metal concentrates by local enterprises and other enterprises in Hunan province has surged, with local enterprises in Chenzhou accounting for half of the province’s total.

To meet market demand, optimize distribution channels, and improve the industrial chain, Chenzhou Customs has reached a consensus on rapid customs clearance cooperation between Chenzhou Land Port, Nansha Customs in Guangzhou and Guangzhou Port, achieving one-stop declaration and release of imported mineral products in Chenzhou, helping enterprises reduce costs, increase efficiency, and facilitate customs clearance.

Chenzhou Dachong Mining Trade Company has self-operated mining rights in African regions and has been engaged in the trade and processing of nonferrous metals for many years. Now, this business provides great convenience for the company.

“In the past, imported mines needed to be inspected and released at Nansha Port, and the whole process took about 2 to 15 days. Now, point-to-point services for customs declaration and clearance can be achieved at Chenzhou Land Port, reducing many detours and costs for enterprises.” an executive of the company said.

Xie Zhiyu, general manager of Chenzhou Hunan-Guangdong-Africa International Logistics Company, introduced that Chenzhou has made use of the highway-sea-rail transport to open up a window for international logistics in inland cities, helping Chenzhou metals be exported to the world, and providing strong foundation for the high-quality development of Chenzhou’s open economy.

Today, the channel conditions for importing mineral products from Chenzhou Land Port have been basically mature. Relying on nonferrous metal trading companies in and outside the city, it can help the import, testing, customs clearance, and distribution business of nonferrous metal industry in the province. It’s expected to achieve foreign trade of about 5 billion dollars annually.
