The 2025 Chenzhou Tourism Development Conference is about to be held. As one of the important observation points of the conference, the Layuan Ancient Village with a history of over 600 years in Yizhang County, has entered the final stage of quality improvement. This traditional Chinese ancient village and national 3A level scenic spot will be developed into a museum without walls.

The village is bustling with activity. Old items such as bluestone slabs, bluestone strips, and blue tile jars are being placed in every corner of the village for tourists to take photos and check in, bringing new vitality to the village.

At the same time, the village has also introduced new formats such as ink bowl cake processing workshop, travel photography, and intangible cultural heritage experiences to enrich the tourist experience.

The overall construction of Layuan Ancient Village is now at the final stage. The current focus is to build the set for the ancient village. Previously, 18 houses have been specifically cleared out, and each building will be designed with a different layout according to different scenes. It aims to provide tourists with richer experiences when they visit the ancient village.

The upgrading and renovation is not only a way of inheriting and protecting historic culture, but also an important measure for Yizhang County to promote rural tourism development through the conference.

At present, the ancient village is becoming a new business card for rural tourism in Chenzhou and a “new engine” for activating rural revitalization.

“Through this tourism development conference, we hope to attract domestic and foreign tourists to visit Layuan Ancient Village. This will enable more people to learn about the history and culture of Layuan Ancient Village, and also help them understand its background and development process,” said the deputy mayor of the town.
