11th CMGE reaches turnover of 1.86 billion yuan

The five-day 11th China (Hunan) International Mineral and Gem Expo (CMGE) came to a close on May 23. It attracted 250,000 visitors and achieved the total turnover of 1.86 billion yuan. Besides, it drew numerous professional buyers, collectors of mineral crystals, institutes, museums and managers of procurement companies. This expo efficiently promoted the high-level opening up and the high-quality development.

The CMGE with the theme of “an appointment with lithium” showcased the lithium resource advantages of Chenzhou. In the delicate hall, spodumene exhibits from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Brazil shone brightly in different sizes and different shapes. Spodumene is a pegmatite mineral that is often associated with crystal, tourmaline, beryl and so on, and has strong ornamental value for its appearance, color and transparency.

At present, Chenzhou City is being devoted to creating an advanced “battery city”, where there are about ten varieties of minerals related with lithium, mainly distributed in Linwu, Yizhang and Guiyang. Its lithium oxide reserves exceed 5 million tons. There are over 30 lithium battery enterprises, with the introduced strategic investment of 140 billion yuan.

This CMGE welcomed diplomatic envoys and international exhibitors again after three years, including the acting consul-general of Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Guangzhou and about 80 overseas exhibitors from 21 countries like Australia, USA, Morocco and India.

During the CMGE, there were various activities, such as the opening ceremony, rare and precious metal new materials summit forum, museum curator forum, livestreaming sessions and auctions.
