The 20th China-Korea Local Government Exchange Seminar and the 22nd K2H International Exchange Civil Servant Seminar were held at the Huatian Hotel in Changsha City on April 16.

This seminar attracted over 280 guests from China and South Korea, including 93 Korean guests from all walks of life, such as the Korean Ambassador to China and representatives of South Korean local governments, providing an important platform for deepening local cooperation between Hunan province and South Korea.

As one of Hunan's cultural and tourism business cards, Chenzhou actively seized the opportunity for exchanges and focused on two core tasks at the seminar. Chenzhou showcased its charm to guests from all walks of life in South Korea and promoted the deep integration of Hunan and South Korea's cultural and tourism economy and trade.
At the seminar, Chenzhou presented its tourism and culture promotion through a stage drama, which featured a novel and vivid form and perfectly showcased the unique charm of Chenzhou.

The promotion focused on Chenzhou’s core scenic resources, including the mist-shrouded Xiaodongjiang, Mangshan Mountain, Yangtian Lake Grassland, and Gaoyi Ridge.
Among them, Mangshan Mountain, as the first barrier-free mountainous scenic area in China, gained popularity among Korean tourists due to its complete barrier-free facilities. The high-quality water resources of Dongjiang Lake have also nurtured renowned lake fish.

These allowed the Korean guests present to directly experience the charm of Chenzhou's mountains and waters.
At the same time, the promotion also conveyed a sincere invitation to all Korean guests. It enabled Korean guests to deeply understand that Chenzhou not only boasts endless natural beauty, but also has profound cultural heritage suitable for vacation and worth exploring, further enhancing Chenzhou's popularity and influence in South Korea.

In recent years, Chenzhou has continued to make efforts in the South Korean tourism market. In2025, it received 38,000 inbound tourists from South Korea, firmly ranking first among Chenzhou’s inbound tourist groups.
At this seminar, Chenzhou focused on promoting its characteristic intangible cultural heritage elements such as Hunan Kunqu Opera, Nuo dance and patchwork embroidery, allowing Korean guests to experience the ingenuity and charm of Chenzhou’s ICH up close and appreciate the unique charm of folk customs in Xiangnan.

A special exhibition area was also set up on the first floor of the hotel for intangible cultural heritage products such as Jiahe Daogang wine, mineral crystals, and Dabujiang patchwork embroidery.

This seminar is an important measure for Chenzhou to deepen cooperation with local governments in South Korea. Through cultural and tourism promotion and intangible cultural heritage display, it not only comprehensively showcased the beauty of Chenzhou's natural scenery and cultural heritage, but also laid a solid foundation for future Hunan Korean tourism exchanges and economic and trade cooperation.
