The Second China (Chenzhou) Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Development Conference 2025 was held at the Chenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center of Chenzhou City on August 9.  

The Chenjiang Laboratory-Xiangnan University Biomedical Industrialization Technology Public Service Platform, as a key inspection site, has attracted much attention from government, industry, academia, and research representatives present at the conference.

Professor Wang Junjie, the person in charge of the platform, provided a detailed introduction to the modern technology engine created by the People's Government of Chenzhou City and Xiangnan University.

The platform has an advanced experimental space of 3,700 square meters, equipped with top-notch extraction, purification, analysis and detection machines including supercritical extraction system and high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. It has established a complete pilot production line.

Its core advantage lies in the construction of a full chain service system: from standardized control at the planting source, efficient extraction of active ingredients and process research and development, to final product development and industrial promotion, forming a complete industrial technology loop.

“The platform aims to provide a solid technological foundation and innovation source for the high-quality development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry in Chenzhou and even the region,” said Wang Junjie.

The services of this platform covers core links such as the formulation of planting standards for traditional Chinese medicine, upgrading of deep processing technology and development of raw materials and formulations, providing comprehensive technical support and solutions for building a modern health industry chain.

The platform fully demonstrated its crucial value as a key hub for industry-university-research collaboration during the conference. On one hand, it actively connected with national-level institutions such as the China Association of Health-Protection Food, and the planting and breeding committee of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and introduced cutting-edge industry concepts.

On the other hand, it helped reach cooperation intentions between multiple research achievements of Xiangnan University and the participating enterprises, significantly accelerating the transformation efficiency of sci-tech achievements in Chenzhou.

The platform of Xiangnan University promoted the integrated model of modern agriculture and medicine and food, providing a “Chenzhou model” for the transformation and upgrading of local characteristic industries that can be promoted.

At the signing ceremony for ten major industrial projects, key projects covering traditional Chinese medicine, culture, tourism, wellness, international traditional Chinese medicine free trade port, and high-end medical device research and development settled in Chenzhou.

The technological support capability of Xiangnan University has become an invisible guarantee and core driving force for the implementation of these projects. The resource endowment of its biopharmaceutical platform is highly compatible with the technical research and talent needs of the projects.

Especially the “industrialization project of TCM formula testing and characteristic diagnosis and treatment technology” signed between Xiangnan University-Chenzhou Industrial Technology Research Institute and China Association of Research and Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a model of deep integration of industry, academia and research.

This platform is increasingly becoming the core carrier for gathering new industrial productivity, continuously injecting the wisdom, strength, and energy of Xiangnan University into the strategic goal of building Chenzhou into a “strong city of traditional Chinese medicine”.
