Starting from 2023, Yizhang County has implemented tourism infrastructure projects in Yiliu Scenic Area of Yizhang County, Chenzhou City. In the past few days, workers have been busy with construction for “three connections and one leveling” which ensures that a construction site is connected to water and electric power supplies and roads, and that the ground is leveled before a project is begun.

At the construction site of the first phase of the tourism infrastructure improvement and renovation project in Yizhang County, over ten large mechanical vehicles such as excavators, bulldozers, rollers, and transport vehicles, as well as construction workers are busy with project construction.

“With the strong support of the local government, the project has been pushed forward in an orderly manner. Currently, about 25,000 square meters have been cleared, and more than 50,000 cubic meters of earthwork have been excavated, accounting for more than 50% of the total. It is expected that the preparation works before construction will be fully completed by the end of this month,” said a worker.

To welcome the 2025 Chenzhou Tourism Development Conference, Yiliu Town launched the first phase of the town's scenic area tourism infrastructure improvement and renovation projects in May this year, with a total investment of 35 million yuan.

The projects mainly include the construction of a tourist service center, an ecological parking lot, a village BA basketball court, tourist public toilets, and a smart system.

The project is located in Tanghuli and Bei'an villages in Yizhang County, with much land acquisition and demolition work. The town government has set up a special team, strengthened supervision and optimized services to accelerate the construction progress.

Located at the foot of Mangshan Mountain, Yiliu Town enjoys the reputation as “China’s Hot Spring Town”, with 6 square kilometers of hot springs and over 30 hot spring wellbores. The daily water output reaches more than 3,000 cubic meters. The annual number of tourists for hot spring tourism reaches 300,000.

The current project will further improve the supporting facilities of Yiliu Town, accelerate the upgrading of the hot spring industry, and enhance the tourism carrying capacity of the entire scenic area.
