The Shiwudao Biological Manufacturing Comprehensive Development Base project officially started construction on January 25.

The project is located in Sanjiangkou Yao Village, Sanjiangkou Yao Town, Rucheng County. It is a provincial key construction project and a comprehensive project integrating biological manufacturing, rural revitalization, new consumption and new culture and tourism.

It covers an area of about 540 mu (36 hectares), with a total planned investment of 2.5 billion yuan. It will expand its product range from traditional rice wine to new consumer categories such as bubble rice wine, refined rice wine, alcohol free rice wine, create a full range of trendy products and derivatives, and build an industrial cluster covering modern agriculture, rural tourism, home stay operation, forest health care, China-Chic intangible cultural heritage and other forms.

“The project is our first biological manufacturing and rural revitalization project in Chenzhou, which will be built into a leading domestic and internationally influential industrialization base for glutinous rice drinks and biological extracts.” Li Qiang, general manager of Guohe Xinli (Beijing) Fund Management Co., Ltd., said that they would actively cooperate with the local government to extend, supplement, and strengthen the industrial chain, and strive to expand tax sources, increase employment and income for the local people, and inject a continuous stream of new momentum into the high-quality development of Rucheng's economy.

The unique ecological environment and advantageous location of Rucheng are the key factors that attract investors to settle here.

“It is expected to start production in about 10 months. After production, the base is expected to directly create about 500 job opportunities for the local area and drive about 4,000 related employment opportunities in the upstream and downstream. The annual output target is close to 2 billion yuan, and it is expected to contribute about 300 million yuan in tax revenue to the local area,” said Lyu Zongkun, chairman of Hunan Shiwudao Biotechnology Co., Ltd., at the construction site.
