A production line with a daily capacity of 200 pigs is running at high speed in the pork cutting workshop of Hunan Shuangxin Pig Slaughtering & Cold Chain Distribution Project in Qifengdu Town of Chenzhou City. More than 20 workers are carrying out standardized operations in an orderly manner.
Since the trial production of the project more than four months ago, a total of 27,000 pigs have been slaughtered, promoting the transformation and upgrading of the pork supply chain in southern Hunan.
The project is invested and constructed by Hunan Shuangxin Food Co., Ltd., with a total area of 73.69 mu (4.91 hectares) and a total investment of about 160 million yuan. It can achieve an annual production capacity of 850,000 slaughtered pigs, and the supporting 6,000-ton refrigerated warehouse was put into use simultaneously.
The project is divided into three functional areas--production area, supporting living area and auxiliary buildings, forming a closed-loop layout of the whole industrial chain involving pig slaughtering, fine processing, intelligent warehousing and cold chain distribution.
Deng Zhipeng, deputy general manager of the company, said: “Since the trial production, we have adhered to the goal of ‘stabilizing production and ensuring safety’, and steadily improved the operation efficiency of the production line. Currently, we have achieved an average daily slaughter of more than 600 pigs, ranking first in Chenzhou City in terms of slaughter volume in October. The meat products are supplied to Suxian District and surrounding counties, fully meeting the regional market demand.”
During the project construction process, the company has focused on the core aspects of pork quality and safety.
On the one hand, it has strengthened the construction of the prevention and control system for major animal diseases such as African swine fever, and implemented standardized control throughout the entire process from entry quarantine, slaughter and processing to delivery inspection.
On the other hand, it has deepened the innovation and reform of the pork supply chain. Through measures such as improving the quality and safety traceability system and upgrading cold chain logistics equipment, it has achieved full chain quality control from the breeding source to the consumer terminal, fundamentally building a regional meat food safety defense line.
Deng Zhipeng added: “We will build an entire cold chain logistics network, expand the GBA market based on the advantageous location of Chenzhou, and expand the capacity of deep processing product lines, striving to achieve full-load operation, driving the development of the pig industry cluster in southern Hunan with the advantages of the entire industry chain, and contributing to the economic and social development of Suxian District.”
