Joysun sells over 1 mln ultra-high-rate drone batteries

As Hunan Joysun New Energy Co., Ltd. continues to pursue breakthroughs in battery research and production technology, it has successfully achieved the transformation of R&D achievements in ultra-high rate lithium-ion batteries for unmanned aerial vehicles this year.

From January to August, the average monthly sales of this product reached 1.2 million units.

In the No.4 production workshop of Hunan Joysun New Energy, workers are busy with production for orders in their respective positions, with the production equipment running at full speed.

50,000 ultra-high rate lithium-ion batteries for drones can be produced in this workshop every day, and the products are exported to many countries and regions around the world.

Dai Yongrong, manufacturing director of the Cell Division of the company, introduced that since the beginning of this year, UAV orders have been consistently full. The current production is also very busy, with a monthly drone shipment exceeding 1.2 million units from January to August.

The ultra-high rate lithium-ion battery for UAV is the latest R&D achievement launched by the company this year. Compared with traditional UAV batteries, its discharge rate can reach 100C to 150C, providing strong power for instantaneous acceleration of UAVs while maintaining the endurance of traditional batteries.

“Since the start of research and development work in February 2024, after about ten months of efforts, by the end of last year, our team successfully overcame key technical bottlenecks and upgraded the material formula, conductivity, and other aspects of the original product,” said Chen Jianjun, R&D manager of the company.

At the same time, the R&D and production project of ultra-high rate lithium-ion batteries has been selected into the first batch of key new material products in Hunan Province in 2025.

This not only reflects the important driving role of this technology in the development of the national economy and the progress of Hunan's new materials industry, but also further consolidates the company’s leading advantage in the field of UAV batteries, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the lithium battery new energy industry in Linwu County.

“The development of UAV batteries has gone through a process from traditional liquid state batteries to semi-solid and even all solid state batteries after technological breakthroughs. Currently, the response in the market and from customers is very positive. Previously, we had achieved mass production of liquid drone batteries. By the fourth quarter of this year, we have also received orders for semi-solid state batteries and the related certification work is underway. The company is in the incremental stage of capacity and product upgrades, which will significantly promote the growth of the company's output value,” said Dai Yongrong.
