Xiangnan Preschool Education College is a full-time public higher education institution approved by the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and registered with the Ministry of Education in March 2014.

It is recognized by the Ministry of Education as the implementation unit of the national preschool teacher “National Training Plan” project, a training base for primary and kindergarten teachers at the college level recognized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, a training center for primary school principals, kindergarten principals, and backbone teachers in Chenzhou City, and the leading unit of the Chenzhou City Early Childhood Education Alliance and the “Strong Teacher Plan” Primary and Secondary School Teacher Training Alliance.

The school, with an area of 330 mu (22 hectares), has more than 7,500 full-time students from various regions including Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Anhui, Yunnan, Guizhou, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Ningxia. There are currently 337 faculty members, including 88 full and associate professors, 108 teachers with graduate degrees, and 1 national special-class teacher in the school, with “double-qualified teachers” accounting for 51% of the total.

There are four secondary colleges, namely the College of Preschool Education, the College of Primary Education, the College of Art and Design, and the College of Continuing Education and Vocational Training, offering 12 majors including preschool education, early education, primary education, science education, music education, art education, dance education, performing arts, modern educational technology, infant and toddler care services and management, study tour management and services, and integrated media technology and operation. Besides, one affiliated kindergarten and one affiliated primary school have been built. Over 80,000 primary school teachers, kindergarten teachers, and other professional graduates have been trained.

In recent years, the school has won many honors such as “Hunan Civilized Campus”, “Hunan Safe Campus”, “exemplary organization for Graduate Employment Work in Hunan Province”, “exemplary organization for Continuing Education of Primary and Secondary School Teachers in Hunan Province”, and “Advanced Collective for Language and Writing Work in Hunan Province”. The teachers and students achieved excellent results in various skill competitions, like the first place in the Vocational College Teacher Skills Competition in Hunan Province and the first place in the Primary Education Normal Students Skills Competition in China.
