Chenzhou Vocational Technical College

Chenzhou Vocational Technical College, a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college, is a high-level vocational school and professional group construction unit in Hunan Province.

With a history of more than 60 years, it has been successively awarded as the exemplary (backbone) vocational college in Hunan, the civilized university in Hunan, the demonstration school of safe construction in Hunan, the exemplary organization of vocational education in Hunan, the exemplary organization of ideological and political education research in universities of Hunan, and the outstanding unit of employment and entrepreneurship work in ordinary universities of Hunan.

The school currently has more than 11,000 students and sets up 8 secondary colleges, including the College of Modern Equipment Manufacturing, the College of New Energy, the College of Information Engineering, the College of Commerce and Tourism, the College of Finance and Economics, the College of Architecture and Engineering, the College of Marxism, and the College of Continuing Education. Management have been approved as the first batch of high-level major group construction majors in Hunan.

In 2024, the school was selected as a pilot university for the “Chuyi Craftsman Plan” to cultivate technical and skilled talents at the undergraduate level.

There are currently 471 faculty members, including 138 full-time teachers at the deputy senior level or above and 288 part-time professors, field specialists, and skill masters. “Double-qualified teachers” account for 80% of the total.

Since 2022, the school has made 336 landmark achievements at the provincial level or above, including 63 national-level landmark achievements. The teachers and students have won 5 national-level skill competition awards and 112 provincial-level skill competition awards, including 22 first prizes. Besides, the school has won platform projects include the Innovation Talent Training and Evaluation Base of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Hunan’s “Chuyi” Industry-education Integration Training Base and the Manufacturing Industry-education Integration Base.

In the past 5 years, it has obtained 7 national invention patents, 124 utility model patents, 18 national and provincial online quality courses, 69 provincial teaching reform projects and excellent achievements, and 162 horizontal scientific research projects.

The school has established the industrial college with leading domestic enterprises such as Huawei and BYD, and signed framework cooperation agreements with the governments of Beihu District and Suxian District. It has taken the lead in building the New Energy Battery Technology Research Center among universities in the city to serve the lithium battery industry cluster in Chenzhou. Its new energy battery industry chain service platform has been approved as a provincial-level special project for the construction of the National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone.

The school has also made efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries. It has joined the German Pedagogical Competence Center and Collaborative College Teacher Development Community, signed a cooperation agreement and established a tourism management talent training base with the Kenya Tourism Institute, and built two projects for the development of occupational standards in Ethiopia.

It is striding toward a well-known high-level vocational college with distinctive characteristics at home and abroad.
