The Investing in Africa & Business Matching Event on China-Africa Agricultural Production and Trade Cooperation was held in Changsha of Hunan Province on June 13.

Kan Baoyong, mayor of Chenzhou City, on behalf of Chenzhou City, signed an agreement to establish friendly city relation with Constance, mayor of Livingstone City in Zambia.
This marks that Chenzhou City has established sister city relationship with Livingstone City.
As early as 2003, Chenzhou established an office in South Africa, opening the door to cooperation between Chenzhou and Africa.
In May 2023, the Chenzhou Economic and Trade Delegation first proposed the intention to establish a friendly city relationship during their inspection in Zambia.
In February 2024, Chenzhou City signed letters of intent for friendly cooperation with Livingstone City. In July of the same year, the mayor of Livingstone City led a delegation to visit Chenzhou and signed a cultural and tourism framework cooperation agreement.
This friendly city agreement is an important milestone in the cooperation and exchange between the two sides. In the future, Chenzhou will engage in regular and multi-level exchanges and cooperation with the two cities in various fields such as economy and trade, education and public health, jointly contributing to Chenzhou-Africa cooperation.
Livingstone City
Livingstone City was founded in 1905, which was formerly known as the City of Maramba (named after the local Maramba River). It was later named after the Scottish explorer David Livingstone who “discovered” Victoria Falls and promoted local development.

It is a famous tourist city in Zambia with tourism as its core pillar, and its core attraction is the world natural heritage site--Victoria Falls (locally known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya Falls”, meaning “roaring smoke”).

In addition, there are other attractions including the Zambia-Zimbabwe Border Bridge (connecting Zambia and Zimbabwe, allowing tourists to freely travel), Livingstone Museum and Railway Museum.

The yacht tour in the upper reaches of the Zambezi River is also a unique experience, during which you can watch wild animals like hippopotamuses and elephants.
