New Media Association of Zixing City

The New Media Association of Zixing City was officially inaugurated on March 11. At the inauguration ceremony, 17 internet influencers and we-media practitioners were appointed as the first batch of “Public Opinion Observers”, “Cultural Tourism Promotion Officers” and “Agricultural Products Promotion Officers” of Zixing City.

This marks a new step taken by Zixing City in pooling the strength of online influencers and opening up channels for public opinions.

To provide a platform for offline communication among internet professionals, Zixing City has allocated special funds for the standardized renovation of the association’s office premises. Additionally, it provides annual funding to support regular activities.

In recent years, the association has organized various activities such as clean-up on Bamian Mountain, Red culture promotion, and support for rural revitalization. Related videos have received over 100 million views, effectively promoting the tourism resources and local customs of Zixing.

What’s more, the city also holds informal forums for internet celebrities and conducts regular visits by municipal leaders to communicate face-to-face with online influencers, encouraging them to shift from bystanders to insiders.

The city has also established a closed-loop system for public opinion, involving “online feedback, proposals by deputies and committee members, and implementation by relevant departments”.

Such livelihood projects as the pedestrian overpass in front of Zixing First Wanquan Primary School and No.3 Middle School, and the spiral staircase of Dongjiangwan Bridge were all initiated in response to online public demands, which were then advanced through investigations and proposals by CPPCC members.
