The Third People’s Hospital of Chenzhou City, established in 1958, has become a modern national tertiary comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and health care.

It is a designated hospital for medical insurance, work-related injury insurance, railway employee medical insurance, and outpatient special diseases for urban workers and residents, a designated hospital for the cataract free recovery project, a training base for assistant general practitioners in the province, and a clinical teaching base for Xiangnan University.

The hospital is located at No. 8, Jiankang Road in Chenzhou City, with the jurisdiction over Beihu District People’s Hospital (North Hospital) located at No. 429,

the Nanling Avenue of Chenzhou City.

With an area of 52 mu (about 3.47 hectares), it has 850 beds. There are 1,219 medical workers, including 1,025 health professionals, 20 experts with senior professional titles, and 183 experts with deputy senior professional titles.

It sets up 32 clinical departments and 14 medical technology departments, including 6 clinical key specialty construction projects in Hunan like respiratory, cardiovascular, neurology, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as nursing, 7 clinical key specialty projects in Chenzhou City, including neurology, cardiovascular medicine, respiratory medicine, urology, orthopedics, gynecology, as well as neonatology, and 14 medical technology auxiliary departments, such as an imaging center and a laboratory.

The Beihu District People’s Hospital has four clinical departments including rehabilitation, nephrology, respiratory medicine, and blood purification center, as well as five medical technology departments.

Besides, it has advanced class 100 laminar flow operating rooms.
