Established in 1907, the First People’s Hospital of Chenzhou City is a national public comprehensive Grade 3A hospital that integrates medical emergency treatment, scientific research and teaching, rehabilitation and health care, and medical and elderly care.
The hospital covers an area of 349,000 square meters, with 4,260 beds, 126 clinical departments and 12 medical technology centers. The hospital has five medical districts: the Central Hospital, the Southern Hospital (Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital), the Northern Hospital (Children’s Hospital), the Western Hospital (Rehabilitation Hospital), and the Eastern Hospital (Tumor Hospital) and a municipal wellness center.
There is currently one national key clinical specialty construction project, 35 provincial key clinical specialties, and 48 municipal key specialties. It has such large medical devices as PET-CT and Vital Beam linear accelerators, GE 3.0T and 1.5T nuclear magnetic resonance imaging technologies, 64-row spiral CT, and DSA.
The hospital has developed dozens of high and new technologies, including organ transplantation, stem cell therapy, radioactive particle implantation, radiofrequency ablation, cochlear implantation, biological therapy, reproductive medicine, and 3D printing, all of which have reached the leading level in China.
