7th Hunan Roller Skating Open kicks off in Chenzhou

The 7th Hunan Roller Skating Open kicked off at the Tengfei Sports Center of the National Volleyball Hunan Chenzhou Sports Training Base in Chenzhou City on December 14. Nearly 200 roller skating enthusiasts from 13 representative teams across the province competed in the race.

This competition is hosted by the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, organized by the National Volleyball Hunan Chenzhou Sports Training Base and the Chenzhou Municipal Cultural Tourism Radio and Television Sports Bureau.

The competition event is roller speed skating, divided into men's and women's groups in U18, U16, U14, U12, U10, U8, U6, competing in 100m, 200m, 500m time trials, 500m, 1000m sprint races.

At present, roller skating has been listed as an official competition event in the National Games, Asian Championships, and World Championships.

The first Roller Skating Open in Hunan Province was successfully held in 2018. This event was held for the first time in Chenzhou and adopted the latest competition rules of the Chinese Roller Skating Association for the first time.“We hope that every competition can be held in different cities of Hunan Province. This time, we also want to promote and develop roller skating sports in Chenzhou. The 2029 National Games will be held in Hunan Province. We hope to discover outstanding young athletes in Chenzhou by hosting events and select some of them for the provincial team. At the same time, the venue for this event is the place where the Chinese women's volleyball team rose to fame, and we wish Hunan’s roller skating athletes can achieve excellent results at the 2029 National Games,” said Xu Qi, secretary general of the Hunan Ice and Snow Roller Skating Sports Association.
