50 international students at Hunan Normal University and Keele University from 14 countries came to Guidong County to experience the ecological scenery and cultural charm of Guidong County and Chenzhou City from June 17 to 18.
At the former site of Chairman Mao Delivering a Speech in Shatian Town, overseas students listened to the explanation and watched the exhibition to understand the history of revolution in Guidong County, the background of the former site and its significance to the Chinese revolution in detail, deeply feeling the revolutionary spirits of Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.
They also visited Longxi Village, Wanyang Mountain Scenic Area, and Qingzhu Village to admire the Longxi Falls and the sea of clouds at Wanyang Mountain. They listened to the stories behind the great changes in Qingzhu Village, gained a deep understanding of the practical achievements of ecological environment protection and green development, earnestly discussed environmental protection measures and sustainable development concepts, and personally appreciated the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
At Santai Mountain Square, the international students entered the final venue of the “Village Chef Competition”, learned to make Guidong specialty dishes from the winning chefs, participated in the making of yellow glutinous rice cakes, tasted the local delicacies, and understood the Guidong food culture.
