An immersive science popularization activity with the theme of “A Wonderful Journey in the Butterfly Kingdom” was held in a primary school in Zixing Economic Development Zone recently.

At the activity site, Li Yuming, a popular science teacher from the Nanling Botanical Garden, unveiled the mystery of “abnormal development” of butterflies for students with a vivid and interesting explanation.

The magical life process of butterflies from “caterpillars” to “flower fairies” was presented through pictures, videos, and physical specimens, allowing students to experience the subtleties of natural evolution.

In the handmade process, students used twisting sticks to create butterfly models, deepening their understanding of butterfly morphology and structure in their creations.

The “Butterfly Nature Observation Note Drawing” competition was also held simultaneously. Under the guidance of the teacher, students learned to use scientific observation methods to record the characteristics and habits of butterflies, combining painting with natural observation. This not only improved their observation skills but also cultivated the rigor of scientific recording.

This activity not only enabled the students to have a deep understanding of butterflies, but also sowed the seeds of scientific exploration in their hearts, contributing to enhancing the scientific literacy of the entire population and laying a solid foundation for building a strong country through science and technology.
