The “Traditional Chinese Medicine and Sports Health” theme activity was launched at the Farmers’ Market of Jiyi Township in Rucheng County on April 18.

Three areas for first aid teaching, free expert consultations, and policy promotion were set up at the event site.

In the first aid teaching area, the medical team of CCM (critical care medicine) systematically taught practical skills such as the treatment of pesticide poisoning and the Heimlich Maneuver through scenario simulations.

In the expert consultation area, expert teams from acupuncture and moxibustion, massage, rehabilitation, and eye, ear, nose, throat, head and neck surgery departments examined more than 300 people. For patients with common and chronic diseases, medical staff tailored traditional Chinese medicine treatment plans.

Besides, drugs worth more than 4,000 yuan and more than 300 scented sachets to repel mosquitoes and insects were distributed on the site.

At the policy promotion area, volunteers promoted policies that benefit the people, such as medical insurance reimbursement and major illness insurance, in dialects, and handed out over 1,000 promotional materials.

This activity is a vivid practice of promoting the “Traditional Chinese Medicine and Sports Health” service model in Rucheng County.

A staff of Rucheng County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital said that the hospital will continue to deepen traditional Chinese medicine services at the grassroots level, integrating the concept of traditional Chinese medicine health preservation with rural revitalization by building a close-knit medical consortium and, developing the TCM health industry, to inject new momentum into the construction of a healthy Rucheng.

The hospital has carried out dozens of such activities since 2024, benefiting more than 20,000 people and training more than 300 grassroots doctors. It has built a three-level traditional Chinese medicine service network in the county, allowing villagers to get timely treatment in villages.
