First batch of goods under new model cleared from customs in Chenzhou

On January 30, the first batch of export goods in Hunan province that adopted the new multimodal transport customs supervision model—20 containers of photovoltaic glass weighing 473.3 tons—completed the customs procedures at the Chenzhou Land Port.

The goods will be transported directly by rail to Guangzhou’s Nansha Port and then shipped to Vietnam's Haiphong Port.

This is a key component of the multimodal transport supervision pilot program recently launched by the General Administration of Customs. Under this model, enterprises only need to submit a single multimodal transport application through the international trade “Single Window” to achieve “one declaration, one seamless process”, streamlining the declaration content and supporting flexible transshipment operations and other logistics needs.

Zhang Yubing, general manager of Chenzhou International Land Port Development Co., Ltd., said that the new multimodal transport model not only reduces burdens and enhances efficiency for enterprises but also provides precise support for them in building a production-service-oriented national logistics hub and promoting high-quality development of regional export-oriented economies, thereby facilitating Chenzhou's better integration into the global trade system.

The Chenzhou Customs has integrated the “one-document system” and “one-container system” into the new multimodal transport supervision model, established logistics channels between coastal ports, border ports, and inland regions, achieving coordinated development of “ports and railways”.

In the future, Chenzhou will leverage the advantages of efficient clearance and cost optimization under the new multimodal transport customs supervision model to fully develop itself into a pioneer port for China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
