Five expressway service areas will be put into use soon

The main structures of the buildings in five service areas in Leiyang City, Yongxing County, Chenzhou City, Suxian District and Yizhang County along the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway have been basically completed.

It is expected to be completed in mid-January and the gas station will be put into use by the end of January, providing guarantee for the Spring Festival travel in 2026.

At present, the outdoor pipe laying, cement-stabilized crushed stone paving, and the installation of concrete facade panels in five service areas are nearing completion. The installation of curbstones and asphalt pavement paving operations are being carried out intensively. The decoration of the comprehensive building and supporting buildings is progressing in an orderly manner.

As a demonstration project for promoting the transformation and upgrading of high-speed service areas in Hunan province, the project places great emphasis on regional characteristics during the renovation.

For example, the Chenzhou service area shows the concept of “a city in the forest"; Yongxing Service Area integrates the characteristic industry of Bingtang orange, and the Suxian Service Area integrates the mountain scenery of Suxian Ridge and the imagery of Danxia landform in Feitian Mountain.

The service areas build a low-carbon operation system and create “zero carbon service stations” through photovoltaic and wind power, sewage circulation irrigation, and application of energy-saving building materials.

At the same time, the smart parking system can display real-time toilet usage status by linking sensors and indicator lights.

After the project is completed, it will further improve the expressway service network in southern Hunan, shorten the travel distance of local residents, connect regional tourism resources and characteristic industries, and become an important engine for promoting the integrated development of transportation, tourism and industries.
