157 batches of goods worth 270 mln yuan cleared in Chenzhou City through SELS

Chenzhou has seen significant results in the model of Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong Single E-lock Scheme (SELS), further promoting the construction of an open platform.

According to statistics, a total of 157 batches of goods were cleared quickly in the first six months of this year, with a value of 270 million yuan, an increase of 37.7% and 58.8% year on year respectively.

At the same time, the average value of goods increased from 1.38 million yuan/vehicle in the same period last year to 1.72 million yuan/vehicle, achieving a leap in both quantity and quality in customs clearance.

SELS is a customs clearance facilitation reform, which was piloted in Hunan Province in 2022. Relying on trucks equipped with customs safety intelligent locks, the goods departing from Chenzhou Land Port can arrive directly in Hong Kong in just 8 hours. This mode greatly shortens the customs clearance time and reduces the logistics cost by 30% compared with the traditional mode.

The efficient and convenient channel has become the “fast lane” for Hunan's characteristic products to expand overseas markets. In recent years, Hunan products such as Dongkou Xuefeng honey oranges, Guzhang black tea, and Chenzhou electronic products have been sold well in Hong Kong, Macao and even overseas countries through SELS.

Chen Chang, the head of the Express Supervision Department of Chenzhou Customs, introduced that the SELS in Chenzhou integrates various resources such as policies, ports, and logistics, and it is expected to form an import and export goods gathering center covering the whole province and radiating into inland areas, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of Hunan's open economy.
