Established in December 1956, Yijiang State Forest Farm is located in the eastern part of Rucheng County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, with an area of 6,728.1 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 96.89%.
It is a mixed evergreen broad-leaved forest area, with the main vegetation being evergreen broad-leaved forests, coniferous forests and shrub forests. The natural forest is dominated by the Fagaceae and Theaceae, and the coniferous forest is dominated by the Taxaceae and Pinaceae.
The forest farm integrates various resources to build a forest tourism and health base and forest experience projects by taking advantage of landscapes such as Feishuizhai waterfall, alpine grassland, and Soviet square. It has successively won such honors as “Demonstration Park of Modern Forestry Characteristic Industrial Park in Hunan Province”, “Top 10 State Forest Farm in Hunan Province”, and “National Key Pilot Unit of Forest Management”.
