Pine trees turn blue green

As the temperature gradually drops in winter, pine trees, or Pinus kwangtungensis Chun ex Tsiang, endemic to China and a national second-class key protected wild plant, turn dark green in Mangshan Mountain Scenic Area of Yizhang County, Chenzhou City.

Mangshan, as one of the most important concentrated distribution areas of Pinus kwangtungensis Chun ex Tsiang, has a unique ecological environment that provides excellent conditions for the growth of this rare tree species.

They either root in cliffs or grow in rock crevices, showing their vigorous and upright posture.

To adapt to the low temperature environment, the pines secrete a special anti cold substance, turning the originally green pine needles gradually into a unique blue-green color, which is particularly eye-catching in the winter forests.

As a unique tree species in China, it not only has extremely high landscape value, but also plays an irreplaceable role in maintaining regional biodiversity and ensuring ecosystem stability.

In recent years, through a series of ecological protection measures, Mangshan National Nature Reserve has continuously optimized the growth environment of the rare pines, allowing them to multiply on this land, and making this winter scenery a vivid illustration of the ecological protection achievements of Mangshan.
