Recently, infrared cameras in Rongjiadong Forest Farm of Yizhang County have captured stunning footage of over 10 species of rare wildlife, including spotted linsang, leopard cat, macaca thibetana, red-cheeked squirrel, masked civet, crab-eating mongoose and Muntiacus reevesi. They play and forage during the day and patrol their territory at night.

Their presence is a testament to the continuous improvement of the ecological environment in the forest area.

Rongjiadong National Forest Farm is a green pearl on the border between Hunan and Guangdong provinces. It covers a total area of over 2,600 hectares. It is home to 5 national first-class protected animals such as Protobothrops mangshanensis and more than 40 national second-class protected animals.

In recent years, the Rongjiadong State-owned Forest Farm has been deeply implementing the development concept of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”. It has continuously improved the wildlife monitoring system and adopted protective measures such as setting up infrared cameras and establishing migration channels, thus creating suitable natural habitats for more wild animals.
