The 10th National Excellent Playlet Exhibition came to a successful conclusion in Wuxi of Jiangsu Province on the evening of October 19. The musical play “Story of Jiang Mengnan”, created by the Chenzhou Song and Dance Troupe, took the stage again at the closing ceremony, using touching artistic expression to play a warm melody for the conclusion of this national level drama event.

The drama, based on the real life of “Tsinghua Deaf Doctor” Jiang Mengnan, tells her trials of growth from childhood to adulthood in flashbacks.

Through dynamic music and dances, it reproduces her journey of pursuing her dreams and becoming successful in a silent world, conveying the spiritual power of “overcoming difficulties and never giving up”.

The work vividly depicts the protagonist's life trajectory in a silent world through the precise and elegant language expressions unique to playlets, winning unanimous recognition from experts and audiences.

The National Excellent Playlet Exhibition, a national level drama event that is held every two years, is always committed to building a high-level exhibition platform for showcasing talents in playlet creation, driving the prosperous development of playlet creation, and promoting the centralized display and professional exchange of excellent national plays.

This exhibition lasted for ten days and showcased 72 outstanding works from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, as well as 6 industry cultural federations and associations across the country. It covers more than 30 types of traditional Chinese opera, as well as various art genres such as drama, skits, puppetry and children’s plays, comprehensively showcasing the rich diversity and creative vitality of China's playlet and skit art.
