A promotion meeting for characteristic zongzi, as well as a special event for helping college students’ entrepreneurship, was concluded in Taiping Street of Changsha City on May 25.

This event that integrates intangible cultural heritage inheritance, youth creativity, and student aid has attracted five entrepreneurial teams from Hunan Agricultural University, Hunan University of Technology and Business, Changsha Institute of Technology, and Hunan College of Information, to compete on the same stage, injecting momentum into the promotion of Chenzhou's characteristic agricultural products and allowing the “Chenpin Chenwei” brand to be popular in the Changsha market.
At the event, 5 Chenzhou enterprises showcased their characteristic products such as ash water zongzi, bamboo tube zongzi, zongzi with Linwu duck, and Umi zongzi. The college student teams integrated regional cultural bookmarks, blessing cards and other elements into the packaging, turning traditional Zongzi into a cultural carrier.
Five entrepreneurial teams showcased their own strengths. The Hunan Agricultural University team created an immersive experience scene, the Hunan University of Technology and Business team chose customer groups through community pre-sales, the Changsha Institute of Technology team relied livestreaming events on short video platforms to attract customers, and the Hunan College of Information team actively interacted with visitors through talent shows.
The event received over one million visits with online and offline ways, and the on-site sales were booming.
At the event, the deep communications between university professional mentors and enterprises became the biggest highlight. Four high-tech leaders led students to participate in market research, product planning, and sales throughout the process, forming a closed-loop training model of “theoretical teaching, practical experience, achievement transformation”.
This event, with the folk customs of the Dragon Boat Festival as a bond, built an integrated platform for traditional cultural inheritance, youth entrepreneurship incubation, and rural industrial upgrading.
Chenzhou Zongzi became popular in the Changsha market, and the zongzi gift box jointly developed by colleges and enterprises has become a popular item on social platforms.
As an increasing number of young students are integrating their professional expertise into rural practices, Chenzhou products are also becoming more well-known across the country.
