The trucks loaded with Big Clitocybe (or panus giganteus) sticks slowly drove into Xiugu Mushroom Industry Plantation in Taiping Village of Jiahe County, Chenzhou City on the morning of May 20. Cadres and villagers were busy unloading 30,000 packs of mushroom sticks from the trucks and transporting them into the greenhouse.

Taiping Village plans to put into production over 400,000 packs of Big Clitocybe sticks this year.
To achieve sustainable development of the industry and win-win situations for all parties, the village innovatively adopts the business model involving village collective, company, cooperative and farmers.
The village collective coordinates resources, the company provides technical support and sales channels, the cooperative organizes production, and farmers actively participate in planting. All parties make joint efforts to promote the continuous growth of the characteristic industry and increase their income together. At present, the first batch of sticks have been placed in the greenhouse, and the rest will also be in place as planned.
“Our base can produce 140,000 kg of Big Clitocybe annually with an annual sales revenue of over 2 million yuan,” said the village secretary Lei Sansheng.
The vigorous development of this characteristic industry brings considerable economic and social benefits. It will provide job opportunities for the idle, elder and disabled people in the surrounding areas, allowing villagers to work at their doorsteps.
The Big Clitocybe planting industry not only brings new hope for villagers to increase income, but also promotes rural revitalization.
