The 13th China (Hunan) International Mineral and Gem Expo (CMGE) ended in Chenzhou on May 20. This year’s CMGE attracted over 600 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions around the world and 240,000 visitors, with a total transaction amount of 2.1 billion yuan and a single largest transaction exceeding 60 million yuan.
There were four exhibition areas, namely the mineral crystal area, the colored gemstone area, the fossil & meteorite area, and the handicraft area. The online live streaming and offline experience have also attracted many young consumers and families.
Through scene innovation, CMGE has pushed forward the transition of minerals and gems from collection to the mass consumer market, injecting new momentum into industrial upgrading.
Since the inception of the expo in 2015, it has attracted over 1,200 companies from more than 60 countries and regions worldwide, with 2.6 million visitors and a total transaction volume of nearly 20 billion yuan.
CMGE has driven the coordinated development of such industries as hotel, catering and transportation. It has become one of the world’s top three and the largest professional mineral and gem exhibition in Asia.
As the only national-level mineral and gemstone exhibition in China, the CMGE shows that the exhibition economy can not only stimulate short-term consumption, but also give long-term impetus for urban development through industrial linkage and brand effect, becoming a new fulcrum for high-quality economic development.
